I recently started this blog back in November. I have blogged for over 2 years over at The Home Team about my family and life a Texas High School coach's wife. I've learned a few lessons along the way and I'd love to pass those tips and tricks onto you.
My favorite blogging platform is Blogger (Blogspot). I've use Wordpress, which many, many people like, but I found it terribly difficult to customize.
Once I got my initial platform built, I searched online for a simple, yet customized template. I really like using Between You & Me. She creates very appealing, contemporary templates that are super easy to install.
I spent quite a deal of time working through the details here on Blogger making sure it looked just perfect. Don't underestimate the time you need to spend to make your blog look professional. Trust me, no one will take you seriously if you're still using the Simple template on Blogger. I speak the truth!
One of the best things I did was wander around the Internet looking at blogs. I made notes of the ones I liked and found easy on the eyes. In an age of Pinterest, visual cues are everything.
